Laboratory testing of a food sample

Assurance

Quality & compliance

Nothing ships on trust alone. Every consignment is documented, tested and cleared before it reaches your loading bay — and you get the paperwork, not a summary of it.

The chain

Five checks between the field and your door.

Supplier vetting

We buy from ISO and GMP-certified manufacturers and established grower co-operatives, audited on documentation, facility standards and consistency of supply. A cheap quote from an unverifiable source is not a saving.

Pre-shipment verification

The batch you approve is the batch that ships. Each lot is checked before dispatch and matched against the specification you signed off — assay, moisture, colour, count and appearance.

Independent laboratory testing

Third-party HPLC assay on extracts. Aflatoxin, pesticide residue, heavy metals and microbiology on nuts and dried fruit, against GB and retained EU maximum levels.

Import clearance

Customs entry, duty and, where the commodity requires it, pre-notification through the GB import control system and CHED-D documentation. EORI available on request.

Release with the full pack

Goods are released to you with the Certificate of Analysis, assay report, packing list, certificate of origin and, where applicable, the phytosanitary certificate. Batch codes are traceable back to the source lot.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about testing

What is a Certificate of Analysis and what should it contain?

A Certificate of Analysis is a laboratory's statement about one specific lot of material. It should carry a batch number that matches the container you received, a manufacturing date, the assay result with the method named alongside it, and the safety panel: heavy metals, microbiology, pesticide residue, and residual solvent where solvent extraction was used. A certificate that cannot be tied to the drum in front of you is a brochure with numbers on it.

Do you test before or after shipment?

Before. Material is tested at origin and does not travel if it will not pass, because a failed consignment discovered at a UK port costs detention, destruction or re-export plus a gap in your supply that cannot be filled quickly. Testing on arrival protects nobody except the supplier who already has your money.

What is tested on nuts and dried fruit?

Aflatoxin, pesticide residue, moisture, microbiology and foreign matter as standard, with results tied to the delivered lot. Dried figs additionally carry an ochratoxin A consideration. Where a commodity and origin combination is subject to increased official controls at the GB border, the accompanying official certification travels with the consignment.

What is tested on botanical extracts?

The marker assay by the stated method — HPLC where the specification calls for it — plus heavy metals, microbiology, pesticide residue and residual solvent. Concentrated extracts concentrate soil contaminants along with the actives, so heavy metals matter more on a 10:1 extract than on the raw herb.

Will you complete our supplier questionnaire or sign a quality agreement?

Yes, in your format. Supplier approval questionnaires, quality agreements and self-audit documentation are normal requests from contract manufacturers and food manufacturers, and we would rather spend the afternoon on the paperwork than be the weak link when your client's auditor arrives.

Which certifications and statements can you provide?

Certificate of Analysis, heavy-metals and microbiology reports, pesticide-residue screens, packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin as standard. Allergen, GMO, vegan, halal and BSE/TSE statements and phytosanitary certification on request. Certified organic material can be sourced to order against a valid, unbroken certificate.

Who is the importer of record?

Aarleez Ltd. We clear GB import controls and quote delivered duty paid, so the customs and import-control exposure sits with us rather than appearing on your desk as a surprise. EORI details are available on request.
