Dry Fruits & Nuts — Line 06
Raisins & sultanas
Golden, green and black, graded on size and colour. The highest-volume line in the range, and the one where the sulphite declaration matters more than the price.
About the line
The sulphur dioxide conversation.
Golden and green raisins get their colour from sulphur dioxide treatment. It is a legal, standard and widely used processing aid, but in Great Britain sulphur dioxide above 10 mg/kg is a declarable allergen, and it has to appear on the label of the finished product. That single fact decides which grade a buyer should take. If your pack is going into a retail chain with a clean-label position, or into a school or care catering contract, an untreated dark raisin is usually the right answer even though it looks less appealing.
Beyond sulphites, raisins are traded on berry size, moisture and how much stem and grit came along with them. Moisture is where the sharp practice lives: a wetter raisin weighs more and looks plumper, and it also moulds sooner and sticks into a block in a warm container. We specify moisture and we test it, because a cheap price per kilogram on a wet lot is not a saving.

Grades
The raisin and sultana range.
Colour comes from variety and treatment. Ask for the untreated grade if your finished label needs to stay free of a sulphite declaration.
| Type | Treatment | Character | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golden raisins | Sulphur treated | Plump, pale gold, sweet | Bakery, retail packs, confectionery |
| Green raisins (Kishmish) | Sulphur treated | Long, green, tart-sweet | Gifting, mithai, premium retail |
| Black raisins | Untreated | Dark, intense, seedless | Clean label, catering, cereal |
| Sultanas | Sulphur treated | Small, uniform, sweet | Bakery, cereal, snacking |
| Munakka (with seed) | Untreated | Large, dark, traditional | Ayurvedic and traditional formats |

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Do I need to declare sulphites on my label?
In Great Britain, sulphur dioxide and sulphites at more than 10 mg/kg in the finished product must be declared as an allergen. Golden and green raisins are sulphur treated and will normally exceed that. We report the measured level per lot, and if you need to avoid the declaration entirely we will quote untreated black raisins instead.
Why is one lot stickier than another?
Moisture, and sometimes the oil coating used to stop berries agglomerating. A wetter raisin blocks together in a warm container and is harder to run through a depositor. We specify moisture up front for exactly this reason.
What is the minimum order?
One pallet per line. On a first order we will accept a mixed pallet across two or more lines so you can trial the range without committing a full pallet to each.
What testing is done before shipment?
Aflatoxin, pesticide residue, moisture, microbiology and foreign-matter screening as standard, reported on a Certificate of Analysis tied to the lot you are buying. We test before the goods ship, not after they land, because a failed consignment sitting in a UK bonded warehouse is nobody's idea of a saving.
Who handles importing and customs?
We do. Aarleez Ltd is the importer of record, clears GB import controls, and quotes delivered duty paid to your address, so the number you accept is the number you pay. Ex-warehouse collection is available if you prefer to run your own leg.
How long from order to delivery?
One to two weeks from order confirmation to a UK address on lines we hold or can draw against. Crop-dependent lines can take longer, and we quote the real date rather than the optimistic one.
Can you pack under our own brand?
Yes. Retail-ready and private-label packing is available, including nitrogen flush where shelf life matters. Send us your artwork and pack format and we will quote the packed price rather than the bulk price plus a vague conversion cost.
