A great deal of extract on the market is standardised by a method that reads anything that behaves like the marker. We put HPLC on the certificate wherever the marker allows it, and we say which method we used when it does not.

FAQ

Questions extract buyers ask

Who supplies bulk botanical extracts in the UK?

Aarleez Ltd supplies standardised botanical extracts business-to-business across the United Kingdom, importing direct from source in India. The range covers ashwagandha, curcumin, turmeric, moringa, ginger, fenugreek and amla, in 25 kg drums, with a lot-tied Certificate of Analysis and the lot certificate drawn from the batch being quoted.

What does a standardised extract actually mean?

It means the extract is manufactured to hit a stated percentage of a named marker compound — 5% withanolides in ashwagandha, 95% curcuminoids in curcumin — measured by a stated analytical method. A ratio extract such as turmeric 10:1 is different: it concentrates the whole plant part ten-fold without isolating anything, and its marker content varies with the crop.

Why does the assay method matter so much?

Because gravimetric and UV methods read broad classes of compounds while HPLC separates and quantifies specific ones. The same physical material can honestly be described as 5% by HPLC and as a much higher figure by a gravimetric method. If your specification names a percentage but not a method, the cheapest way for a supplier to satisfy it is the method that reads highest — so always write the method into the specification.

What is the minimum order for extracts?

Twenty-five kilograms per specification, which is one standard fibre drum. Mixed consignments across two or more actives are accepted on a first order so you can qualify several ingredients at once. Five-kilogram foil pouches are available for pilot batches and stability work.

Do you supply organic certified extracts?

Our standard offer is conventional. Certified organic material can be sourced to order against a valid, unbroken certificate from farm to delivery, which carries a longer lead time and a separate price. We quote it honestly rather than implying certification we cannot evidence.

Can you match a specification we already buy against?

Usually. Send the incumbent Certificate of Analysis — supplier name redacted if you prefer — and we will tell you plainly whether we can match it, better it, or not hold it consistently. We would rather lose the enquiry than win it on a specification we cannot repeat on the second order.

What testing comes with a botanical extract?

The marker assay by the stated method, plus heavy metals, microbiology, pesticide residue, and residual solvent where solvent extraction was used. Concentrated extracts concentrate soil contaminants along with the actives, so heavy metals matter more on a 10:1 extract than on the raw herb.

How quickly can extracts be delivered in the UK?

One to two weeks from order confirmation to a UK address on running specifications, quoted delivered duty paid in sterling. Bespoke specifications requiring a fresh production run take longer and we give the real date at quotation.
